The isothiazolinones CIT/MIT is used as biocides and algicides in lotions, building materials, power metallurgy, oil field chemicals, leather, paint, textile, chemical, cosmetic, paper, water treatment and other fields. When used in water treatment, it should be diluted to a 1.5% aqueous solution first. Then a weekly dosing of 1 to 2 times with a dosage of 80-100ppm depends on the breeding of bacteria and algae.

This fungicide shows poor stability in alkaline medium that has pH value above 9.0, so try to avoid using it in such conditions. Nucleophilic chemicals, such as S2-and R-NH2, will lead to the quality decline or even total ineffectiveness of this product.
